Why would a prospective client want you to be their keynote speaker or to support their speaking event? What are some compelling aspects of your background/career/experience that we should know about? 

I am a 30 year Army Veteran that culminated my career as the Big Red One (1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley, KS) Command Sergeant Major (CSM). I deployed to Iraq as a Battalion CSM during the surge 2006-2008 for 15 months. I deployed to Afghanistan as a First Sergeant, Operations Sergeant Major, Brigade and Division CSM. I served with 7 Army Divisions; 1st, 2nd, 4th, 24th, 25th, 82nd and 101st. I also served as a recruiter for 3 years and an instructor for 3 years. I am a graduate of the National Defense University Keystone Course.

What are some positions you have held in your career that you would like prospective clients to know about?

  • Command Sergeant Major (E9) at a Division (29,000 personnel) Brigade (5000)and Battalion (600) Level / Brigade Operations Sergeant Major. Oversaw human resources, security, operations, logistics, communications and legal departments. Established standard operating procedures, developed special training programs to resolve problems and planned logistics organizing the distribution of goods and equipment. Redesigned a leadership course, updating policies and ensuring ongoing relevance and supervised / coordinated travel plans for White House staff members supporting the President’s overseas visit. Developed an employee reception and integration program that became the Fort Riley and Fort Carson standards. Designed and executed comprehensive employee development strategies to foster growth and identify the next generation of leaders, resulting in the Army’s highest retention rate. Managed daily operations while overseeing and visiting 57 locations to foster increased productivity.
  • Afghan Sergeants Major Academy Trainer / Advisor – Kabul Trained, Advised and Assisted (TAA) the Leadership and Instructors of ANASMA (Afghan National Army Sergeants Major Academy) consisting of 54 Staff and Cadre and 166 students as they transitioned their Military Professional Institutional Education as part of the National Defense University. Eight key areas: budgeting transparency; accountability and oversight; force generation; force sustainment; strategy and policy planning, resourcing and execution; intelligence and strategic communications. Developed highly empathetic client and customer relationships and earned reputation for exceeding service standard goals.
  • Trainer / Consultant, Knowledge Point – Dubai, UAE Instructed, mentored and trained Emirate Brigade leadership and staff constant of 270 on new policies and procedures. Collaborated with management in staff meetings and provided feedback on team productivity and efficiency. Prepared the Staff Principles to manage combat operations in Yemen and Assisted the Brigade in the design of a new operations center.
  • Consultant, JTilley Inc – Colorado Springs, CO Advised customers in the form of college leadership on creation of academic programs for military members. Ensured course rates complied with established tuition assistance rates. Counseled management on awarding upper-level credit based on job, experience, and training. Played a key role in the creation of a dynamic online platform for students worldwide; Recommended degree customization, maximizing credits students earn through military training. Responded to customer requests for products, services and company information.
